ECE: Unpacking the key documentation with a focus on cultural capability - Tahu Loper (InterLEAD)
$35 - Recorded July 6th 2022
About the workshop:
A focus on the documents that guide us in building cultural competencies in ECE.
Where they come from? What do they say? What can we do?
- Ka Hikatia (with connections to the NELP’s)
- Tapasā
- He Māpuna te Tamaiti
- Tātaiako (will dig a bit deeper into this)
Kaiako want to be authentic in their interactions with all cultures within their sphere of influence. Unpacking these documents provides the will and the skills in navigating these spaces, in collaboration, with a focus on learning and growing; together.
About our facilitator - Tahu Loper (InterLEAD):
B.Teaching (ECE), Grad.Dip Education, Dip.Teaching (ECE)
Tahu is a MoE accredited Education consultant with over 15 years ECE experience, both in New Zealand and abroad. Tahu brings a practical, approach to leadership, teaching and learning. With reciprocal relationships being foundational to his own personal pedagogy, he finds his bicultural approach a natural and pragmatic way to achieve this.
His strengths are in building relationships and creating a sense of whanaungatanga. He believes allowing kaiako to craft a shared vision upholds the mana of our tamariki. In addition, he believes that the strength of the team as a whole comes from recognising and complimenting the passions, skills and talents that we find in each other.
