You may have seen the recent news that the UK and New Zealand are extending the eligible age range and criteria for working holiday visas. While these changes haven’t kicked in yet, this is still a great time to come and teach in New Zealand! Here are our top 5 reasons why now is a great time to teach in beautiful New Zealand:
Reason 1: The border is reopening!
After being shut for over two years, the New Zealand border has been slowly reopening and visa applications are open for overseas teachers! Find out more about what the NZ border is doing here.
Reason 2: You may be eligible for a $5000 relocation grant
The Overseas Relocation Grant (ORG) is a grant of up to $5000NZ designed to help overseas-based teachers with the costs of relocating to New Zealand. This grant is currently for teachers whose roles are starting between July 1st 2022 and December 31st 2022, though this timeframe may be extended.
If you’re already working with ep.education, let your consultant know that you can arrive in NZ in this timeframe and we can work with you to find a role that helps you to meet the ORG criteria.
Reason 3: There are lots of teaching roles available
Right now, we have teaching roles available across the country and across sectors. Just let us know what you’re looking for and we may have the perfect role for you! Or if you’re already working with us, why not ask your consultant if they have any roles going in a part of the country you hadn’t considered before?
Reason 4: Escape the heat
Right now, it’s winter in New Zealand, but don't be fooled! While we are a great place for snow sports, winter throughout New Zealand is generally mild, with average temperatures during the day being around 12 - 16˚C (53 - 61˚F). And we’ve already passed the shortest day of the year, meaning that things are going to get brighter and warmer from here! New Zealand spring is absolutely gorgeous and a great time to spend your weekends checking out waterfalls and flowers in bloom. Our weather doesn’t get too extreme in any season – a nice change of pace from the oppressive heat or intense snowfall that can affect some other countries.
Reason 5: It’s a great time to see the beauty of NZ
New Zealand is always beautiful, and there’s never been a better time to experience our stunning country. Right now, the walking tracks and ski slopes don’t have the same levels of tourists as they have in the past, meaning you’ve got a great chance to see some of beautiful NZ – without the crowds.
Have we convinced you yet? If you’re already working with us, send us an email so we can see how we can help you start your New Zealand dream. And if you’re not working with us yet – what are you waiting for? Contact our candidate care team by emailing a copy of your resume to careteam@epeducation.co.nz and start planning which of the stunning sights you want to see first.
