To teach in ECE in NZ there are a number of requirements that need to be met.

• a Level 7 teaching qualification as assessed by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) with Core Knowledge Requirements being in Early Childhood Education.
• at least 1 year of preschool teaching experience with 0 - 4 years of age
• English language assessment, if required eg. Pearsons 65 or IELTS 7
• NZ Teacher Registration
